A Hidden Gem

I recently picked up Two worlds II after much reluctance even at the low price of 10euros. I was interested in the game since released date but just like many other gamers do anything less than an 8 out of 10 in meta-critic and popular gaming sites isn't a buy until its $5 or less
After playing the game for nearly 50 hours boy was i wrong not getting this earlier ( i would gladly paid the 40 euro price tag at launch ). The game has a lot of going on for it. I will even say i liked Two worlds 2 more than Skyrim. Sure Skyrim is a good game and put about 50 hours in but i couldnt keep playing past that as it ended up a grind fest and the fantasy world is set in it didn't help since the variety in enviroments wasnt there. I will say though that Skyrim has a huge plus ( like previous Elder scrolls games )  and that is Mods
Come on who among us didnt download a body mod?

Moving into Two Worlds II and what made it a better game ( for me at least ) compared to Skyrim . The biggest pro of TW2 is its World. Its huge and has variety . At the beginning i found my self in a dungeon and a bit later on i found my self in a small settlement in the middle of the savanna ( yes yes the savanna as in Africa, wild animals ). For now i'm fighting my way in the swamps. I already put about 50 hours and havent even explored half the map
TW2 also does much better the magic system compared to Skyrim ( i use skyrim as a comparison because the two games are similar while The Witcher 2 is another kind of a beast ). You can literally create unlimited amount of magic spells and is fun experimenting with the magic creation system . Other positives about TW2 are humorous and clever main characters, flexible weapon and armor upgrade system.
ohh look at the beautiful magic spell i created

What makes me though coming back to Two Worlds 2 and wanting to finish the game are the side quests and the amount and variety of monsters. There are hundreds of side quests and lots of them are quite interesting  and offer a good story their own . There is a huge variety of monsters and enemies to fight against to that each needs a different approach to do it while the combat is fun despite some small control issues and that is a great positive for an RPG game
                                          Prepare to meet your maker

Not everything is rosy in the world of TW2 though. Inventory system is clumsy and confusing ( though you get used to it so its not a big deal ). The main story and most of the characters are forgettable though there are some characters  that do make an impression and you feel sympathetic for them ( such as gorgeous George). The biggest issue though for TW2 is A.I. path finding problems and some control quirks.
If you are willing to look past those downsides of TW2 you are in for a great adventure and an exciting and refreshing RPG ( with locations i never saw in an RPG before ). Something i havent mentioned before are the graphics. Both artistically and technically the graphics are great and the variety of locations helps create a beautiful and convincing world

A tip for newcomers in the game is to start as a mage and develope your character on that path since as i mentioned above the spell creation system is immensely fun and exciting and its part of what makes TW2 a great game worth picking up. The game is usually sold for around 15-20 euros and i will highly recommend it to any RPG fan
