The best Pc Fps games of 90's
Mid 90's till 2000 was imo the golden era of pc gaming and some of the best fps games appeared at that era
From Wolfenstein to Doom that made Fps genre popular to Half life that revolutionize the genre ( from narrative to ways you can interact with the enviroment ) to Unreal a game that started the graphics race to Quake and Unreal tournament that made MP fps games popular
Here is a video list of the best games in no order
1. Blood
To me this screams what an fps is supposed to be. Great level design, quotes taken from old movies that can rival Duke's quotes, some of the best weapons in fps games ( voodoo doll FTW ), excellent level design ( from moving train to circus level ), great choice of music ( creepy ), a great array of enemies
2. Duke Nukem
This needs no introduction. Balls of steel ( lets just hope that DNF will stand up to the great legacy Duke left us )
3. Unreal Tournament 1999
Imo the best MP game of 90's. The game that made fast paced MP matches popular a game that was at time the only alternative to quake ( for those who didnt like quakes grey visual style and slower than UT pace ). Great gameplay, amazing soundtrack, great graphics . The game was the definition of adrenaline
4.Hexen
If you Doom wasnt your Cup of tea then Hexen was for you. An array of playable characters to play that added re playability to the game , great weapons, more open world than Doom, great art direction this is one of the most underrated games of 90's
5. None other than Half Life
When first played you knew that Fps games will never be the same. Half life took the genre to a new level. While the story isnt something to cry about the way it presents it from the very first opening cinematic in Black Mesa to the very last was something never experienced before. The way every location is connected to the previous ( unlike the traditional levels before ) to the way you will find ammo and health packs. Let alone great mod support

This was the Crysis of its time. But it wasnt only graphics. The A.I was revolutionary for its time and it also had decent gameplay. I still remember the very first enemy how hard was to kill unlike any game before
